Can you believe it? Fuji-Ya--the Twin Cities first Japanese restaurant--opened in 1959! It was the site where many meat-and-potatoes locals sampled their first taste of raw fish. Today, the reincarnated Fuji-Ya (with shops in both Minneapolis and St. Paul) is run by the original owner Reiko Weston's daughter, Carol Hanson. Read more about Fuji-Ya's history and then stop by through the end of 2009 to get in on the discounts offered on these five menu favorites:
Your choice, $5 each:
Harumaki (Veggie or Pork) Egg Roll
Kaiso (Seaweed) Salad
Spicy Tuna Roll
Unagi Maki
Plus, add a cup of miso soup for 50ยข.
