Rick Nelson offers more details about Tejas impending closing, December 30th. After 22 years in business, owners Wayne Kostroski Mark Haugen say a rent increase is the cause for the closure and that they may consider reopening at some point in a new location. Nelson credits Tejas for successfully lobbying the city of Edina to change its draconian liquor-license laws, which helped pave the way for places like Edina Grill and Salut to serve cocktails. ![]()
"There was concern that there would be drunks roaming the streets, but guess what? People in Edina are still in bed at a reasonable hour," Kostroski said with a laugh.
