Jon Stewart calls artificial meat "our greatest achievement yet"

Did you check out Jon Stewart's Daily Show segment about meat grown in labs from pig stem-cells? Some see this artificial meat as a solution to the resource consumption, environmental hazards, and ethical issues associated with eating animal flesh.
But don't start looking for the stuff on supermarket shelves quite yet--practical applications of the technology are still a few years out. And there are still a few challenges with the product's sensory qualities of the stuff: it's said to have the consistency of "soggy pork." In the meantime, we'll stick with bacon.
