Number 99: Eclair at Butter
Does a dessert qualify as a dish? In our book, yes, especially when it's one of the famed eclairs at Butter, which were introduced to the Kingfield neighbors back when the Grand Avenue space was Sweetski's. (All the baked goods are made with butter, eggs, and flour from local and organic sources when possible, too.) This one is a *small* (just $1.50!) but it packs a lot of punch: the delicate pastry shell is just thick enough to hold the thing together, and not a bit more, so it rightfully stays out of the way of the lush pastry cream and swipe of dark chocolate on top. But if you've had one of Butter's eclairs before, you know to ask for the large.
