More mixology clases @ Bradstreet from Studio Bricolage

In case you missed the first Studio Bricolage Mixology class, which focused on the birth of the cocktail and basic bar gear, they're offering two more at Bradstreet in late January and February. They recommend registering asap, as the first one sold out. Here's what's in store:

Part 2: The Origins of Spirits and the Philosophy of Ice Join us for this entertaining class where the talented mixologists from Bradstreet Craftshouse will discuss the origin of spirits, including the science of fermentation and distillation. Guests will discover the differences between potato, grain and fruit-based vodkas by tasting samples and also will also explore a variety of tequilas. The philosophy of ice and the art of how to garnish a classic cocktail with fruits, herbs, spices and syrups will round out the class. When: Saturday, January 30, 1-3 pm Where: Bradstreet Craftshouse Restaurant is located on the ground level of the Graves 601 Hotel, 601 First Avenue North, Minneapolis 55403. Cost: $45 per person in advance; $55 at the door, subject to availability. Price includes spirit samples, snacks and instruction by Bradstreet's award-winning mixologists. Part 3 of the MIXOLOGY series: "All About the Bitters" is scheduled for Saturday, February 27 from 1-3 p.m. Guests will explore the fascinating history of bitters; discover the differences between potable and non-portable bitters and sample bitters from the vast Bradstreet collection. The class will end with guests designing their own bitters recipe and concocting a sample that they will pick up in two weeks and enjoy a free cocktail.

NOTE: Studio Bricolage will offer more classes based on recommendations from the mixologists at Bradstreet and class participants.
