100 Favorite Dishes: Jackson's milk chocolate gelato

No. 70: Jackson's gelato

Oh for the days when getting your favorite melty summer treats from Point A to Point B involves embarrassing sucking noises, compromising tongue positions, licking styrofoam, and the inevitable "chocolate mouth" in order to preserve every delicious bite. While such physical comedy can not be easily replicated during a Minnesota winter (save artful employment of magnifying glasses and/or aluminum foil) Jackson's Coffee & Gelato deftly manages to make up for in taste whatever it may lose in heat-induced humor during our cold winter months. And your best bet? Jackson's milk chocolate gelato. It's peanut butter-thick, crazy chocolate-y rich, and has the nuance of a good glass of wine. It's milk chocolate perfect for dark chocolate lovers. Don't let subzero temps (or any temp) keep you from getting in on some hot gelato action.
