No. 64: Crema Cafe's sorbet spritzer
When made correctly, high-quality sorbet can be as complex in flavor as a good wine. Sonny's Ice Cream, which is sold at Crema Cafe, understands this completely. With the sorbet spritzer you get two heaping scoops of sorbert (mix and match, or choose one flavor), topped with a little bubbly (Perrier, that is. This dessert is non-alcoholic, though they do serve beer and wine here too). Varieties offered at Crema change with the seasons--sometimes the week--but we adore the pear Pinot Grigio, raspberry Zinfadel, chocolate, pineapple mango basil, and just about any other flavor they offer. Soon enough neighbors and visiting patrons will be able to sit and enjoy this treat at the restaurant's lovely outdoor patio.
