Learn how to make sausage with The Craftsman's meat wizard Mike Phillips and how to prep a whole fish with Coastal Seafoods' Nils Westdal this Saturday courtesy of ... the Minnesota Historical Society? Yep, that's right.

The afternoon delight at Fabulous Catering marks the third DIY event presented by the museum in recent months focused on how to "revive the domestic techniques of yesteryear in your home kitchens." (In February, there was one on beer and in mid-March there was one on cheese.)

In addition to Phillips and Westdal, Fabulous Catering chef/co-owner Dawn Drouillard will be on hand to fry up the fish Westdal preps, and author Greg Breining will be on hand to discuss Minnesota's masochistic tradition of ice fishing.

Hey, Hot Dish readers: Score a member rate on the workshop (a $5 savings) if you call the museum at 651.259.3015 to get tickets by 3 p.m. tomorrow (Fri., April 2) and mention the code word "Craftsman." The workshops are a partnership between the museum, Fabulous Catering, and food+music superstars Gastro Non Grata.

Here's the rest of the vitals:
