Mayslack's: happy hour of the week
Venue: Since 1955, Mayslack's has been the neighborhood bar that all other neighborhood bars want to be. Housed in a corner brick building built in the late 1800s, the room has a "if these walls could talk" feel. The bartenders are friendly, the crowd is relaxed, the roast beef sandwiches are as big as your head, and the bloody Marys come with a beef stick. Verdict: Not for the fancy of pants, this is a bar where you drink beer or a good strong drink and talk to the people sitting next to you (the ones you don't know). If you stay late enough, you might catch the bands playing in the next room, or a gang of rowdy pedal-pub partiers making a scene.
