Chipotle offering locally grown chicken in Minnesota stores
When a fast-food chain attempts to play the "local" game, people pay attention. It doesn't hurt to look a step above all the other junk out there. Chipotle started a new program this month that brings Minnesota-grown chicken to their menu throughout the state.

And that's not all that's local. Here are the details:
The chicken is coming from Gold'n Plump Poultry, so say what you will about supporting local business. It's kind of like feeling good about shopping at Target to "shop local." The product is from Gold'n Plump's cage-free, vegetarian-diet, no-antibiotics line called Just Bare. Gold'n Plump's Just Bare chickens comes from 32 farmers in a 45-mile radius of Cold Spring, near St. Cloud.
Besides chicken, Chipotle is also using locally grown produce when it's in season. Green bell peppers come from Pahl Farms of Apple Valley from mid-July until October. That farm and Cala Farms also provide jalpenos. Red onions come from Keewaydin Farms in Viola, Wis.
