Parasole "passport" offers free cocktails at Uptown eateries
Parasole really has its promo-mojo going in this video--you might want to hit the mute button--but it is worth watching if you've ever wanted to catch a glimpse of Parasole CEO Phil Roberts or B.T. from Cities 97 (uh, B.T. are those pinup girls on your vest?). Also interesting: a look into the new-ish party room at Chino (bookable for "bride swaps" and "manhood rituals," natch), the mozzarella-making at Il Gatto (a preview of what's to come at Edina's forthcoming Mozza Mia), and a tour through the food, drink, and interior/exterior design of the brand new Uptown Cafeteria.
And what was that we mentioned about free cocktails?
Hot Dish talked with Roberts and marketing guru Kip Clayton recently about Parasole's new "Passport to Uptown" program at Chino Latino, Il Gatto, and Uptown Cafeteria and Sky Bar and a few other incentives they're offering. Parasole is hitting the whole social media thing harder, perhaps, than any other restaurant group in town. "Cafeteria had 10,000 Facebook friends before it even opened," Roberts says.
