How far would you go for these babies?
Everybody's got an angle this week be it four-legged friends, film stars, or Scandinavian hot dogs. Pick your poison, this week in food.

Monday 7/19

  • Hit the deck--Sea Change and Gastro non Grata present another Monday patio night. $5 gets you a wristband and a gratis Pabst Tall boy, an additional $25 gets you a four-course meal, and it's a good one: sherry-glazed pork belly, grilled cuttlefish with tomato, olive, and squid ink, Caribbean barbecue jerk-roasted pig, and Texas hot links. 5:30 to 10 p.m.

Tuesday 7/20

  • Get your Paris Hilton on. Tiger Sushi hosts Sushi with Your Poochie. Dogs will enjoy hand-rolled, dog-friendly maki, while owners can take advantage of happy hour sushi and drink specials. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Minnesota Spay and Neuter Assistance Program. $15 cover. Tuesday and Wednesday. 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Wednesday 7/21

  • Are you a man of distinction? Find out at Prohibition's Men of Distinction Night. Taste Maker's Mark's new bourbon release, enjoy drink specials and appetizers by Chef Josh Hill, and puff on hand-rolled cigars. No cover. 4 to 8:30 p.m.

  • There's nothing better than summer on the veranda. For those poor souls who are veranda-less, head on over to the American Swedish Institute, which will host a summer veranda party. Listen to live music, play lawn games, and nosh on Scandinavian hot dogs (odds are they're way hotter than American hot dogs). 4 to 8 p.m.

Thursday 7/22

  • Rub elbows with filmmakers as Seven hosts the Independent Film Project of Minnesota. See the work of a local filmmaker and chat with the director and producers. Ponder your own film career while enjoying the skyline view from Seven's roof deck. $50/$35 IPF members. 6 to 10 p.m.

Friday 7/23

  • OK, Lake George is a hike for city folks (north of Park Rapids, west of Duluth), but there'll be blueberries waiting for you when you get there! If you're in the mood for a road trip, check out the town's annual Blueberry Festival. Enjoy good, old-fashioned fun with a quilt show, horseshow tournaments, a mini pedal tractor, and, of course, blueberries. July 23 through July 25.

Saturday 7/24

  • Cuteoverload.com: Kickapoo Country Fair. Kickapoo! And not only is it cute, as the Midwest's largest organic food and sustainability festival, it's an ethical good time. The only catch? It's in Wisconsin. Find ticket information and an event schedule at www.kickapoocountryfair.org. Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday 7/25

  • Buckle up: it's corn season. Find out how to cook, can, freeze, and eat Minnesota's favorite crop at a corn salad demo at Valley Natural Foods, part of its Farming the Backyard series. As an added bonus, find out what to do with kale! Stop by between noon and 3 p.m.
