Zen Asian RIP

The herd of Asian eateries in Uptown thins: RIP Zen Asian
The lights are off and the phone's disconnected at Lyn-Lake's Zen Asian: Will a neighborhood thick with Asian eats even notice the loss?

The place started off with a menu of Asia's greatest culinary hits: curry, pho, fried rice, pad Thai, Korean short ribs, etc. (Dining there was a little like visiting the meditative, yoga studio alternative to Chino Latino's rowdy party pad.) The fusion orange-glazed duck--Peking duck meets duck l'orange--was among the most missed dishes when Zen transitioned to a Szechuan menu last winter. Mpls/St. Paul Magazine reports that Szechuan fans shouldn't be too disappointed by the closure if the rumors are true that Szechuan powerhouse Tea House may open another branch in the Zen location.
