5. Aster Cafe
Matty O'Reilly, owner of the 318 Cafe in Excelsior, took over the Aster this spring and gave it a much-needed reboot. The cafe's best seats are those on the leafy, gated patio, which offer a pretty view of the historic riverfront along SE Main Street.
4. Target Field
Twins fans are cheering about the new stadium and its revamped concessions, which offer more variety and many local faves, including Kramarczuk's sausages, Murray's steak sandwich, and the Vincent Burger, for starters. But, no matter how delicious the eats, make sure to keep your eye on the game. We're not responsible for any fly ball injuries sustained. (Bonus: Take our photo tour of Target Field)
Jim Ringo's globetrotting Ringo is positioned at a quiet corner of the Shops at West End, and the sidewalk seats are a pleasant place to dine from August's Bangkok, Thailand menu or September's Buenos Aires, Argentina. As the nights get cooler, request an outdoor table next to the glass-enclosed fireplace. (Bonus: Take our photo tour of Ringo)
The D'Amico's new Bloomington digs are awfully pretty, especially the 3,000-square-foot enclosed patio, complete with lounging couches, fireplaces, and pool table. How cool is that?
1. Uptown Cafeteria
Uptown Cafeteria is the reigning king in the city's recent roofdeck explosion. A glass elevator whisks diners up to the Skybar, which is lined in wood, populated with mod lounge furniture, and prettily lit once the sun goes down. If you arrive during peak hours, though, you'll find yourself waiting in a very long line. (Bonus: Take our photo tour of Uptown Cafeteria.)
