Iron Cocktail Competition starts tonight
How's this for mixing it up on a Monday night? Ten local bartenders are competing tonight at the 4 Orange Iron Cocktail Competition from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chino Latino, emceed by Seth Bixby Daugherty.
Ten bartenders mix for a trip to Miami!
For the first round, bartenders must use 4 Orange vodka and up to two mixers and two other ingredients to create their drink for the crowd to sample. The winner will be determined by public vote, which begins the night of the event and will continue online (anyone is allowed to vote) for a week.
Four contestants will advance to the semifinals on September 25 at Surdyk's, and the two finalists will compete at City Pages' Iron Fork on October 14. The winner will receive a trip to Miami. Here's who's competing and what you need to do to watch:
Tickets for tonight's event cost $20 and include appetizers and samples of the bartenders' drinks. A portion of the proceeds benefits Second Harvest Heartland. To reserve a spot for the Chino competition RSVP to Dawn at chinoparties@parasole.com or call 612.824.7878.
