Rojo Mexican Grill opens today at West End
Hot on the heels of their Sauce Pizza and Wine opening, restaurateurs Michael McDermott and Jason Merritt are opening Rojo Mexican Grill today in the West End. When your dad is the founder of Chi Chi's, like Michael McDermott's is, expectations are high.

The menu features old favorites like carne asada and red snapper fish tacos, along with newcomers like cotija grilled corn on the cob. All of the ingredients are fresh and made from scratch daily. The pulled pork quesadillas bring a heat from the habanero pepper but are immediately cooled down by sweet mango sauce. The hot-sweet combo carries over to the desserts, where churros are paired with spicy chocolate sauce and sweet vanilla cream.
Rojo boasts over 75 options for tequila, and a rare mezcal was spotted on the top shelf. Specialty drinks include the already buzzed-about strawberry-jalapeno margarita.
