BLVD Kitchen and Bar now open
Dean Vlahos, the founder of the suburban stars Champps and Redstone, has opened a new eatery called BLVD Kitchen & Bar on Wayzata Blvd. in Minnetonka. Mpls. St. Paul magazine attended the opening party and reported that the former Don Pablos has been transformed into something chic, modern, and actually quite urban looking.

Longtime consulting chef Tobie Nidetz was cooking at the opening (he helped develop the food at places like Stone's in Stillwater and Jimmy's Food and Cocktails in Minnetonka, and tends to be known for American comfort food with a gourmet twist) but the executive chef is Michael Burkauskas. Expect calamari, chicken wings, ribs, steaks, chops, various burgers and sliders on pretzel buns. There's a carving station for sliced-to-order meat sandwiches as well as a wood-fired grill. BLVD is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and offers happy hour every day from 4-6 p.m.
