Girl Scouts for grown-ups: The Farmgirl Sisterhood
The Farmgirl Sisterhood--think of it as Girl Scouts for grown-ups--is coming to the Creative Connections Conference, a.k.a. "mompreneur" meet-up, in Minneapolis this weekend. The group's founder is Mary Jane Butters, the organic food/lifestyle entrepreneur featured in this excellent Dana Goodyear New Yorker profile, who has been described as being a farmer "in the way Martha Stewart is a housewife."

Farmgirl Sisterhood
is an online group of women with local chapters who educate themselves in the rural arts, earning merit badges for everything from gardening to canning to tractor engine overhauls. If that sounds intriguing, consider attending their Saturday night Farmgirl Round-Up, which includes an apron fashion show and quilt square swap.
