Prairie Ale House coming soon to Eden Prairie

On the heels of great gastropup fare coming to the suburbs in the form of Robbinsdale's new Travail Kitchen & Amusements, Eden Prairie will be graced with a similarly casually ambitious venture from Aaron Johnson, a partner in the Strip Club and founder of Town Talk Diner with a track record of creating Hospitality with a capital H.

Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl of Minnesota Monthly reports that the new venture will be called Prairie Ale House and will open in a former Timber Lodge Steakhouse, hopefully in October. Chef Tommy Begnaud (formerly of the Town Talk) will be in the kitchen, serving sustainably raised meats (like at Strip Club, they'll use Tim Fischer pork and Thousand Hills beef), a large beer and cocktail selection--hopefully something to rival SC's Cobra Kai!--plus pickled eggs and deep-fried pickles stuffed with cream cheese, jalapenos, and Spam! Are we actually jealous of Eden Prairieites? You betcha.
