James Beard Awards accepting nominations
Minneapolis is coming off a 2-year winning streak at the James Beard Awards, with Tim McKee and Alex Roberts taking home the Best Chef Midwest title in 2009 and 2010, respectively. 
Beard gets out the vote!
If you'd like to nominate someone deserving of that award or another (best new restaurant, best rising star, outstanding pastry chef...), anyone can submit a name for consideration at the James Beard website between now and December 31, 2010.
The Restaurant Awards Committee reviews the submissions to create their nominating ballot of up to 20 candidates, which is winnowed down to a shortlist by a panel of judges scattered across the country. In the spring, the final ballot of the top five finalists is again turned over to the judges, with the winners announced at The James Beard Foundation Awards Gala in early summer.
