Big Eddy--a bodacious stout.
Leinenkugel's Russian Imperial Stout, named after Big Eddy Spring in Chippewa Falls, Wis., was first offered in 2007 and is being brought back for a limited time this fall. Russian Imperial stouts are very bold and chocolaty, full of malt and hops, often called the "king of stouts." Big Eddy lives up to the reputation--it's all business, with a deep molasses color and  9.5 ABV, and ideal to imbibe while wearing a big furry hat or fringed babushka. While offering a light froth and hints of citrus, there's no hiding its aggressive nature. This big-ass brew is just the thing to brace ourselves for the colder days ahead. We plan on serving it with a bowl of steaming borscht to achieve the full effect.
