A pint of prevention is worth...uh....nevermind.
The Daily Beast collected statistics on alcohol use and abuse to rank the nation's most drunk metropolises. Minneapolis ranked 11th, based on the following data:

Average drinks, per person, per month: 12.63
Percent of adults who are heavy drinkers: 5.4
Percent of adults who are binge drinkers: 20.6
Deaths per 100,000 residents from alcoholic liver disease: 4.6

The other 10 cities that preceded us are:
1. Milwaukee, WI
2. Fargo, ND
3. San Francisco, CA
4. Austin, TX
5. Reno, NV
6. Burlington, VT
7. Omaha, NE
8. Boston, MA
9. Anchorage, AK
10. San Diego, CA

Milwaukee's number one place isn't a surprise, nor are the other Midwestern cities, Boston, or Anchorage. But do people in San Francisco--is it the Napa affect?--really drink more than those in New York City or Las Vegas? Was there some sort of mistake?

Bonus points to anyone who can identify the bar pictured to represent Minneapolis in the Daily Beast slideshow.
