Town Talk Diner RIP

gravestone thumbnail.jpg
Town Talk is silenced.
The Town Talk Diner, the Hi-Lake icon that reopened in 2006, has shuttered again, reports the Heavy Table. Restaurateurs Tim Niver and Aaron Johnson revived the diner to rave reviews, but it has struggled since they sold their share of the business to their chef-partner Tor Westgard in 2008, who resold it to current owners Charlie and Jimmy Theros a few weeks later.

I'm sad I didn't get there more often. It was a few blocks too far away to be my neighborhood bar and that chunk of seward/longfellow wasn't exactly a destination spot. Another great longfellow spot bites the dust... *cough* Cliquoet Club *cough*

Oh
Oh

I never got a chance to get out there, but that was because it was too expensive. I don't care what you're going for, if there is "Diner" in your restaurant name you should have some real food that costs less than $10.

loved this place, but felt it was a bit overpriced. Still, sad to see it go. Loved the fried pickles and their 'Pollack' cocktail.

It was good, but never worth the insane waits. I gave up on it years ago because of that, and the rise in similarly good restaurants it inspired (minus the waits).
