The old Hollywood Video store on Hennepin will become a Blue Plate special.
After an extended vacancy, punctuated briefly by a pop-up Halloween shop, the former Hollywood Video store on Hennepin will soon reopen as a restaurant.

The Business Journal reports that the Blue Plate Restaurant Co., which owns Edina Grill, Highland Grill, and Scusi, among other restaurants, has signed a lease for the prominent Uptown space and hopes to open its seventh eatery there this summer.

Except for Edina Grill's digs at 50th and France, Blue Plate has tended to go for more neighborhood-y, off the beaten path real estate, so the 11,800 foot space will be a very visible marquee. Stay tuned for more on the new concept and projected opening date.
