Black Swan, a psychological thriller set in the New York City ballet world, holds five Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actress (Natalie Portman).

The film caused more than a scare in Latvia yesterday. A man was shot dead at the central multiplex cinema in the Latvian capital, Riga, after eating his popcorn too loudly during a screening of Black Swan, according to the Telegraph.

Was it just the popcorn or a psychological effect of the mind-twisting thriller?
