Food & Wine nominates four locals for People's Best New Chef

Since 1998, the editors of Food & Wine magazine have selected 10 up-and-comers in the restaurant world to honor on its cover each July--Stewart Woodman, Tim McKee, and Seth Bixby Daugherty among them.

This year, the magazine is expanding its annual Best New Chef contest by adding a "people's" category to let the dining public vote for a chef whose restaurant has "most significantly stirred your soul and your palate." The winner of the the People's Best New Chef 2011 will be the subject of a profile in the July issue of Food & Wine. That story could be about any of these Twin Cities chefs:

The country has been divided into 10 regions and we have an impressive three restaurants represented in the Midwest chef nominations: Erik Anderson of Sea Change, Landon Schoenefeld of Haute Dish, and Mike Brown and James Winberg of Travail. Congratulations, guys!

Food & Wine is asking diners to go online to see photos and mini bios of each candidate and then vote for chefs whose restaurants you've actually visited. So go on and get clicking!
