A fiesta in your mouth

Let's face it, in Minnesota we like fried food of nearly any type whether it's meat, veggie, or fruit. Even if the idea unusual fried goodness only appeals to you during State Fair season, Salsa a la Salsa's fried chocolate truffle is one fried food not to miss. This decadent dessert has so much going for it, that it's hard to settle on one favorite component.

Aside from the fact that the concoction is miraculously not a greasy mess, it deserves recognition for so much more.

Three fried chocolate truffles are ensconced in a crispy shells filled with molten, liquid rich chocolate. As though that weren't enough, the truffles are nestled next to a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream which sits atop two fried cinnamon and sugar coated tortillas.

You can enjoy the crunchy sweetness of the fried tortilla's hardened exterior on its own, but why would you do such a thing when you can easily convert it into a makeshift spoon to scoop the ice cream into your mouth? In case three small truffles doesn't feed your need for chocolate, all three of your dessert components is drizzled in even more molten chocolate.
