Sun Street Breads opens at 46th/Nicollet.
At 6:30 a.m. today, Solveg Tofte, the longtime head baker for Turtle Bread, opened the doors for her own bakery/cafe, Sun Street Breads. The shop, located at 46th and Nicollet, is another score for the increasingly foodie-fied Kingfield neighborhood, offering baked goods--cakes, cookies, pastries, and pies--plus breakfasts and lunches.

The bread list looks intriguing, as loaves include the likes of wheatberries, potato flax, chestnuts, and figs. The sandwich list even more so, with everything from egg-topped breakfast biscuits to porketta. Also, it looks like Sun Street will be one of the few places in town where you can get your hands on kolacky.
