Tremblay's Sweet Shop salt water taffy: 100 Favorite Dishes, No. 63

We're gonna need a bigger bag
It's easy to be overwhelmed when you enter Tremblay's Sweet Shop in Stillwater. Who knew there was THIS MUCH variety when it comes to saltwater taffy? Everywhere you look is a bucket or barrel heaped with a new -- sometimes bizarre -- flavor of taffy to try: buttered popcorn? Cotton candy? Honey? Hell yes.

Tremblay's understands that the urge to sample every flavor can be overwhelming, so they offer a simple method: pick up a paper bag and start loading it with whatever selections you prefer. Then you pay by the weight of your overloaded bag and dig in to some of the smoothest, most flavorful taffy to find its way to your molars. And yes, the chocolate chip cookie dough taffy is just as gooey and memorable as the classic fruit flavors. Pick, mix, and dive in.

Is it hein that I actually like the cookie dough flavor? Though I think basic grape might be my favorite.

Buttered popcorn? Hell yes! Just broke into my stash reserved for the day this blog posted and let me say, there's nothing like the chewy, salty goo of a Tremblay's root beer taffy sliding down your throat first thing in the morning.
