What foods should Target Field add?

More new eats at Target Field?
Just because there's still snow on the ground, that doesn't mean we can't start getting psyched up for baseball season. The Star Tribune points out that the Twins will be announcing this year's concessions lineup on March 29--and that there may still be time to make some tweaks from last year's menu.

Rick Nelson calls out the soft serve as being in need of improvement and I agree. I'd love to be able to take a few licks of Pizzeria Lola's pistachio while watching a game. Or a frozen sweet from one of our beloved hard ice cream churners, or former Liberty Custard owners Steve and Vicky Uhr?

What foods do you think Target Field should add? Join the discussion and leave a comment below.

Vegetarian options!!!! I tried some sort of veggie Kabob, and it was tiny, sad and overpriced. Take a look at Milwaukee: great veggie dog, San Fran: veggie EVERYTHING and even the Xcel Energy Center: veggie burgers. Vegetarians need some choices, and many of us like traditional ballpark food (though the asian noodle dish was really tasty, I just want a veggie corndog or something). Its sooooo easy. How was this so overlooked???

get rid of half of the Schwiegert dogs options, which are terrible. The dugout dog is the only passable option that vendor even has. Use Vienna or Kosher, or just anything better.

Better buns for the kramarczuks sausages (the delaware north buns were often stale).

A good Chicago dog stand (call it something else if you are averse to using the word "Chicago" in the park).

Italian subs or Clancy's roast beef sandwich on bread from Rustica

Ikes burgers

Lyndale taps Pit beef sandwich!!!

You people are all a bunch of Rubes .. with that said, the only recommendation I'd make is axing that lame buffet in the Legends Club ... either make it cheaper, or let me go through more than once.

They need a dairy queen stand. This makes total sense since they are a twins sponsor, based in mn, etc....famous daves and/or market BBQ also make sense. Keep the food Minnesota!

Whoever said Chef Shack mini-ds is a genius. I'd also like a Hormel-made Dome (RIP) dog

SUSHI!!! (I think this will obviously be one of the new foods added, "Nishi Rolls" we could call them)Some sort of Sub Sand which place, PLEASE! I ate Blimpie's all the time at the Dome, missing something like that at Target Field.

And how about a Manny's Tortas?

While a tasty idea, I don't think the Twins would be game (no pun intended) to let outside vendors make money and take business away from their own food stands. If anything, they'd probably ask the food trucks to move further away...

I agree that the food is awful The Vincent burger was burned with all of the cheese leaked out and the Manny's steak sandwich was so well done it was leather.

Some great mexican food would be a big plus. In Chicago they have some great little vendors at their stadiums that sell fresh grilled fajitas and authentic tacos. Plus some great nachos.

I would love to see some sushi for when it is warm out. That would have been perfect last year. But I don't know how popular that would be. And it would have to be made fresh in front of you.

And I agree about these suggestions:Jucy Lucy's from Matt'sLobster Sandwich from the Smack ShackCrawfish Po'Boys from Sea Salt

For what we spent on food last year per game we have decided to eat at a nice restaurant before the game unless they dramatically improve the cuisine. We have a great ball park and awful food.

Luce needs to get in there with some of their pie, and one of the local breweries (lookin at you, Harriet Brewing) should get a corner somewhere to brew a TF-only brew. Yum.

There is better and cheaper food outside the stadium. Anyone that goes to a stadium to eat is a sucker!

I hope I don't get pelted for this one, but how about a few veggie choices? Maybe a veggie burrito with beans and veggies vs just rice and no meat. Or some other creative fruit/veggie options. (not very baseball like, but I can only do so many bags of peanuts with my beer!)

Good point. Just because it has no meat does not mean I would not eat a good falafel at the game. Absolutely!

Good pizza and scotch eggs are the best suggestions yet. Just getting those would be spectacular.

I agree with Eric on the Banh Mi and everything D. Sweet Mentioned. I would add:

Diamond Dog from The DepotGiant Juicy Turkey Sandwich from Turkey to GoMini Donuts from The Chef Shack

University Ave is home to the best Vietnamese food in the country - could we maybe get some banh mi?

What really gets me is having to wait in separate lines to get food and drinkable beer. That was the one thing that Metrodome did better than Target field. Every food window had at least one tap of something different than the mass market american pilsners. In the entirety of the place, there is one window where you can get a Summit EPA with your food, so if you don't want to make more than one stop in the rush between innings, then I hope you are in the mood for cheese curds.

I totally agree. My first thought of Jasmine Deli Bahn Mi. Personally I think Bahn Mi would be the perfect baseball food, maybe spring rolls as well?

Definitely need a better italian beef at Target Field. Like D.Sweet mentioned, if Chris and Rob's could come in as an italian beef consultant, that would be great, because the one's I tried last year were horrible. Paying for overpriced food at a ballgame is bad enough, but to do so for pooooorly executed food is just plain wrong. The best ballpark should have the best food. A good italian beef would be an excellent addition to Target Field.

Most of what I tried at Target Field was pretty good, but I would like to see better pizza. The pizza at the Dome (papa john's) sucked. Target Field pizza is only slightly better. There is a lot of room for improvement here.

Also, I agree with Sam. You could find 1 picture from Target Field? Really?

They already have a Jucy Lucy, just not Matt's. It's called a "Rex Burger" and you get them at Hrbek's.

Town Ball Tavern also had a Jucy Lucy last year

I don't have anything constructive to add but since it's the internet I feel it's my duty to complain that the picture used is from the other stadium without a roof and not our wonderful Target Field. For shame.
