Eat wings and help tornado victims
Eat dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings on Wednesday, June 1, and a portion of your bill will go to help the victims of the north Minneapolis tornado.

The local company announced that it will donate 10 percent of money spent on food and nonalcoholic drinks at its Crystal, Roseville, and U of M locations to the Salvation Army. The deal is on from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. But you have to let your server know.

"In order for meals to count for the fundraiser, customers must mention they are dining to support tornado survivors," says a press release from the company.

The Salvation Army is trying to raise $1 million to help tornado victims with relocation expenses, furniture, clothing, and other basic needs.

So far, the Salvation Army has provided $121,000 worth of food, clothing, gas vouchers, gift cards, and other kinds of help to 4,200 tornado survivors and served 3,800 more from its mobile kitchens.

If you don't want to eat wings, or you'd like all your money to go straight to the Salvation Army, you can donate to the nonprofit online.

And as we've written before, you can also send money to the Minnesota Helps-North Minneapolis Recovery Fund as well as to the Red Cross of Minnesota.

Let's see, only 3 locations for 4 hours and you have to tell them you are there to support the tornado victims? I suspect they will be giving less than they would have had to pay for the free publicity.
