Custom chocolates and custom cakes make great bedfellows.
We were more than a little sad when Chocolat Celeste owner Mary Leonard announced last year that her famed chocolate shop was closing. But Leonard was undeterred by the havoc the Central Corridor light rail construction caused to her firm, and was determined to reopen the shop elsewhere. As avid Twitter followers of the St. Paul confectionery shop (@ChocolatCeleste) learned yesterday, Leonard is teaming up with another big-name sweets shop to continue to bring their decadent truffles to the Twin Cities' market.

As Mpls.St.Paul Magazine's bridal blog first reported yesterday, notable cake bakery Buttercream will offer Chocolat Celeste's various chocolates every Saturday in their Deephaven shop.

Got a message, say it with chocolate.
Leonard will even be on hand to answer questions and suggest the right chocolates for every occasion. Still need more incentive to stop by the Lake Minnetonka bakery this summer? Perhaps the free samples and buy three truffles, get one free offer will sweeten the pot.

And things may be looking up for the chocolatier in another way: An upcoming spot on MSNBC's "Your Business" is sure to put Leonard and her sweets on the national radar. The company's Facebook page is full of behind-the-scenes pictures of the taping.

Chocolatier Mary Leonard explains how she bounced back from adversity.
As Leonard explained to Mpls.St.Paul Magazine's blog, "[MSNBC] found me based upon the fact that I took time off from the business and then opened again, with more limited hours," she says. "They wanted to talk to me about how it affected me personally and how I rethought the business. It was an intentional sabbatical."

Be sure to check out Chocolat Celeste every Saturday in its new Deephaven digs at 1817 Minnetonka Blvd or call 952.249.0390 for more information.
