Buy cupcakes. End hunger.
On Saturday, May 14, the Minnesota Chapter of National Food Bloggers is hosting the 2011 Great American Bake Sale at the Midtown Global Market's shared commercial kitchen, Kitchen in the Market. Proceeds will benefit Share Our Strength, a nonprofit that fights childhood hunger.

More than 30 local bloggers, such as Amy Peterson of Green Your Plate and Kathy Lewinsky of A Good Appetite, will be selling all sorts of their favorite baked goods (breads, cakes, pies, muffins, scones, cookies, bars, and more). Hot Dish blogger Joy Summers, who also pens the blog Eating the Minneapple, will be making one of her favorite savory munchies: popcorn that's been popped in bacon grease, coated in butter, and dusted with smokey Spanish paprika, inspired by French fries served at the former jP American Bistro.

The sale takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

When will there be another bake sale like this?  How much did you raise?
