Buttercream introduces Cupcake Saturday deal

Buttercream's baking up sweet deals.

Just when you thought Saturdays couldn't get any sweeter, Minnetonka bakery Buttercream ups the sugary ante. In addition to recently welcoming Chocolat Celeste's goodies to their shop, the bakery is rolling out Cupcake Saturday with a sweet promotion.

Simply stop by the bakery from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays to purchase 10 of its decadent cupcakes and get two more cupcakes free. Not that we need an explanation for free cupcakes, but founder David Mess gives a little insight into the bakery's weekly promo. "Almost daily we get the call telling us they tasted a Buttercream cake at a wedding and have to have more."

OK, so maybe you don't have a plausible excuse to bring home 12 cupcakes every weekend. Don't worry, you can still join the Cupcake Saturday festivities. You can buy one of the shop's signature cupcakes from a weekly rotating selection. Be sure to try the Lemon Raspberry, Tempting Turtle Torte, and Chocolate Pistachio varieties. You can also order your cupcakes and other Buttercream treats online.

Needless to say, we're petitioning for a TGIS(aturday) addition to the lexicon.
