A life-size rat isn't a legit babysitter.
For some kids, getting left at Chuck E. Cheese's would be a dream come true: unlimited playtime in the ball pit without a nagging adult to tell you it's time to go home. But this wasn't so for a 2-year-old girl who was abandoned at a West St. Paul branch of the kids' restaurant by her 24-year-old day care provider last July.

This week, the now-former day care provider, Elizabeth Molnar, was arrested on a gross misdemeanor charge of child abandonment after she failed to appear in court, the Pioneer Press reports.

Apparently, Molnar had taken 10 children, between the ages of 10 weeks and 8 years, to the restaurant with the help of two of assistants. The group left Chuck E. Cheese's about 12:30 p.m., though Molnar did not notice the 2-year-old girl's absence until about 4:15 p.m., when the girl's mother came to get her.

Fortunately, Chuck E. Cheese's employees called police when they saw the girl wandering around alone and the police reunited the girl with her mother.

After the incident, the state suspended Molnar's day care license and later revoked it. If Molnar is convicted, she could face up to year in jail.

Overexposure to the ShowTime band is dangerous for a child's fragile psyche; throw the book at her!
