Steel Toe Brewing opening stalled by shutdown

Will Steel Toe ever be able to start brewing?
The state shutdown is preventing a new local brewery from opening for business.

KSTP reports that owner Jason Schoneman, an experienced brewer who has worked at various breweries around the country, just installed the boiler at his forthcoming Steel Toe Brewing in St. Louis Park, but a department of labor and industry inspector couldn't come out and license the machine before the shutdown.

Schoneman has everything ready to brew...and now must sit idle until he gets that signature. He's sunk his life savings into the project and says that if he can't get going soon, he could potentially have to abandon the brewery before it even opens. For now, Steel Toe's website offers this hopeful message:

"The brewery is currently on hold as we wait for the MN gov't to come to a compromise. We just need one signature from the state and we will be able to start brewing. We look forward to getting STB brews into your hands sooner rather than later!"
