What, exactly, was the idea behind the new mega food manufacturer-branded lip balms? Smear a little Boo Barry or Pop Secret-scented wax on your smackers for all the satisfaction without the calories?

Who knows? What we do know is that General Mills, Betty Crocker, and Pillsbury have launched a line of cereal-, baked good-, and snack food-flavored balms for $2 to $3 a pop, roughly the same price as their namesake products.
