National Whiskey Sour Day cocktail recipe: Dizzy Sour

| A most joyous National Whiskey Sour Day to you. |
While many of you might find plain old whiskey with sour mix quite all right, we taste-tested this extra special recipe.
Dizzy Sour
1 1/2 ounces whiskey
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/4 tsp. Benedictine*
1 tsp. superfine sugar
1/2 ounce dark rum
fresh egg white (optional)
fresh fruit or herb garnish (optional)
Combine all ingredients except rum in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with ice for at least a minute if you are using egg white--this will create a nice froth. Strain into an ice-filled glass. Float the rum (slowly pour over the back of a spoon into the cocktail so it stays on top) and garnish.
