Blue Door Pub plans expansion to Minneapolis

A familiar colored door is coming to Minneapolis
St. Paul's diminutive burger darling, the Blue Door Pub, has settled on a Minneapolis location for its next outpost, according to Rick Nelson at the Star Tribune.

Here are more details about where co-owners Jeremy Woerner and Patrick McDonough say they plan to set up shop.

The address for the new Blue Door is 3448 42nd Avenue South. The owners don't seem to like to venture too far from their comfort zone, having come from originally working at Groveland Tap to their current location (the former Puerta Azul on Selby and Fairview in St. Paul's Merriam Park) and now a jaunt over the Mississippi to Longfellow.

The neighborhood would be a good fit, it's highly residential, but near the latest branch of Turtle Bread. It's a quiet area that would benefit from a dinner spot, not unlike their first location. Just think, a night out that could include a beer and Blucy, a movie at the Riverview, and a little dessert at the wine bar across the street. Cheap-date-night divinity.

Plans are still in the works, and it's not a done deal yet. No word on the liquor license situation, hopefully they can keep in tact their fabulous list of local brews.

Through their Facebook page, Blue Door is asking fans to let the City of Minneapolis know why they would be great for the neighborhood. Information here.
