Smalley's Caribbean Barbeque: Happy hour of the week

True. Time flies when you're having rum.
Verdict: This happy hour is ideal if you want to hang out in a large group with a menu full of items meant for sharing. Think heaping mounds of nachos, piles of wings, and their stellar jerk pork tacos at $3 a pop. Typical happy hour fare, but also some nice variations on the theme like scallion pancakes topped with jerk pork and plantains ($5). The cocktail menu is chock full of fruity rum drinks, the kind where you need to remember about the wicked strength before you find yourself acting a fool. We love the Cabin Boy ($5). This drink is rich and bursting with the taste of seemingly every fruit in the world--a cocktail that is a swell companion to Smalley's jerk-style wings, contrasting the hot spice with the sweet nectar. A little nip and bite at Smalley's is the perfect end to a crisp autumn day after a long meander around town.
The Cabin Boy.
