Altered Esthetics' new art show, "Food Fight," understands that the time of turning a blind eye to the way our food makes it to the dinner table is long gone. Increased awareness raises both practical and ethical questions and asks us to make choices about our food. Economic realities raising other issues, such as food as a luxury versus a means of survival.

The exhibit explores these subjects with pieces by 30 artists in the mediums of painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking, and interactive works. According to the gallery, "Artists blend notions of gourmet and staple, abundance and shortage, pleasure and struggle, production and consumption as they relate to food."
