The co-op is at 2929 25th Street East in the Seward neighborhood of south Minneapolis, where the Cake Eater Bakery used to be. It staged a soft opening on Friday and opened for its first full day of customers on Saturday.
It will be open Tuesday through Sunday, from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The Donut Cooperative announced in early October that the business was almost ready and gained around 300 new fans on Facebook.
"I thought everybody had kind of written us off because it was taking so long, but the response has been overwhelming," Dawn Otwell, co-founder of the project, told City Pages at the time. "Everyone's been really excited."

"We'll always have the classics, too," Otwell said.
Reached for comment this morning, Otwell said the coop's opening weekend was "insane."
"We were completely sold out of everything," Otwell said. "Our cookies, scones--the response was overwhelming from the community. We saw a lot of the same people all three days. That was a really good feeling."
