A last gasp for food trucks this week in food

A trip to Alsace via Edina's Salut
Let's get right to it: The best part of this week in food is a last chance to get your fill of the popular food trucks next Saturday. Sure, it's going to cost you $125 (for charity!), but might we float the idea that it's worth it for one last paper boat of Indian spice mini-doughnuts?

In the middle there's duck, pork, and more Goose Island (Matilda and Pepe Nero). Upgrade your cooking skills at Midtown Global Market's Cooking the Market class, which promises a hands-on seasonal cooking experience to even the biggest kitchen-phobes. Chef Molly Herrmann of Tastebud Catering guides students through their culinary journey, which includes a wander through the market for inspiration and a sampling of cheese from Grassroots Gourmet. That warmup is followed, naturally, by plenty of cooking and eating. The class runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and costs $65. Book online here.

The sixth-annual Charity Meat Raffle takes place at the St. Paul Grill today, which is a great way to do a good deed and possibly land heaps of meat for your freezer. From 2 to 4 p.m. guests can buy $5 tickets and watch as prizes like seafood and chops from the Grill's suppliers are given away every 15 minutes throughout the event. Winners spin a wheel to find out which hunks of meat they'll be taking home. Proceeds of your meat addiction benefit St. Paul's Neighborhood House. For more information call 651.292.9292.
