Turkey To Go opens storefront location in St. Paul; Minneapolis next

You no longer have to go to the State Fair or the ball game--or even a Turkey To Go food truck--to get your fill of pulled turkey sandwiches. Owners Drew Levin and Dan Perkins have opened a storefront location in St. Paul, with plans for another one in Minneapolis come January.

The St. Paul location, at 56 E. Sixth St. in St. Paul (on the skyway level of the Alliance Bank Center in the food court), opened Monday. The downtown Minneapolis location will be at 706 Second Ave. S.

"We've been planning an expansion for a while, and we'd really seen a lot of success with our food truck in Minneapolis last year," Levin says . "After we closed out the season, we decided we really wanted to open a fast-casual brick-and-mortar store and grow that way... so we found a couple of spots we really liked and moved on it."

On the menu: Turkey To Go's signature pulled turkey sandwiches and salads, plus both turkey and veggie pitas and a wide variety of toppings, which allow customers to customize their orders.

Slow-roasted drumsticks, however, are only sold in the food trucks and not available at the restaurant.

"As much as people think drumsticks are a big seller during lunch, they're really not," Levin says.
