Surdyk's Flight received the "Best New Foods and Beverage Concept" award from the Airports Council International-North America. The organization released its Excellence in Airport Concessions contest results earlier this week.

Located in Terminal 1 in the MSP International Airport, Surdyk's Flight is a wine market and bar also offering artisanal fare. You can stop in for a drink or meal before or after a flight--and because Surdyk's Flight is located past the security gate, you can even buy a bottle of wine (or a snack) to take with you on the plane.

Meal options include baked goods, salami, gourmet cheese, sandwiches, and salads. The extensive wine selection (with over 100 options) is international, featuring choices from Australia, France, Germany, and Italy.

Not flying anytime soon? You'll have to settle for Surdyk's Liquor & Cheese Shop, at 303 East Hennepin Ave.

Surdyk's has my favorite pre-flight sandwich: an amazing Chicken Banh Mi.
