Will the Devil's Advocate be a great new downtown neighborhood bar?
Erik Forsberg's new gastropub being planned for the former Inn/Subo/Hell's Kitchen space in downtown Minneapolis will be called Devil's Advocate, the Downtown Journal reports.  The restaurant is expected to open as a pub-type place with large flat screen TVs and a focus on beer, with 30 to 40 taps. The owner hopes to feature many rare and seasonal brews.

Forsberg (who also owns the Ugly Mug in the Warehouse District) was quoted as saying he hoped people would come for the beer and discover some amazing food. To curate that fabulous menu, he'll need some significant talent, and it looks like he may have found it.

Heading up the kitchen will be Matthew Frederick, formerly of Porter & Frye. The cuisine has been described as "American bistro."

The projected opening date is February 1.
