Locally-sourced ingredients put Kopplin's on the map
So often, Minneapolis and St. Paul are ignored by the national magazines' best-of awards and end-of-the-year lists. Our innovative restaurants and late-night hot spots are overlooked for something bigger and shinier in Chicago, as though a nod to anywhere in the Midwest will safeguard the publication against coastal favoritism. But we're having a moment this week, or rather, Kopplin's Coffee, at its new location on Marshall Avenue in St. Paul, is having a moment. They earned a spot on The Atlantic's list of the coolest coffeehouses in America (Rustica Bakery is also suggested as a place to grab a  pastry, the bostock in particular, to go with your coffee.) May we note that Kopplin's was No. 1 on our list? We can officially call ourselves trendsetters.
