Prairie Ale House closing "indefinitely"

Prairie Ale house will re-open with new branding and a new menu

Just a scant year after it started slinging high-class pub fare, Prairie Ale House is closing "indefinitely," according to the restaurant's Facebook page.

The Hot Dish caught up with Brian Werner, the (now former) sous chef at Prairie Ale House, to find out what happened and what might be up next for the Eden Prairie eatery. "Business was still really good even toward the end," Werner explains, "but they ended up deciding to close down the restaurant for the time being. Our last service was New Year's Eve."

But all is not lost. The Ale House will be rebuilt and re-branded over the next few months.

As for Werner, he is being considered for positions in a few different kitchens but has yet to make any final move. "It was kind of unexpected," he says of Prairie Ale House's closing, "but sometimes the best thing to do is to put it in the hands of someone with experience and a different perspective, and try again."
