Food trucks, seasonal restaurants (Sea Salt next weekend anyone?)​ and patios all over the Twin Cities are opening early in light of this warm March weather we've been experiencing. Now Uptown happy hour spot, the Lowry, part of the Blue Plate family of restaurants that includes Highland Grill, Longfellow Grill, and 3 Squares (among others), is getting in on the action with a decidedly summery new cocktail they are simply calling Snarf.

The pint-sized beer-based cocktail created by Jeff at the Lowry, contains Shocktop, a Belgian-style wheat beer (or, Witbier), locally made all-natural Joia Grapefruit soda, gin, simple syrup, fresh lime juice, and a twist of lime for garnish and that little extra bit of acid needed to set the whole thing off. After a few refreshing, effervescent sips, we're predicting this drink of the week will join the mojitos and bootleggers of the drinking world as a shoe-in for drink of the summer.
