Tonight it's all about carbs on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives
Offering more evidence that Guy Fieri has run out of actual diners, drive-ins, and dives to highlight on his Food Network show, tonight's episode of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives will feature a Minneapolis institution that couldn't properly be said to fit any of those categories. The Twin Cities have been well-represented on the show for the past few weeks, with Pizzeria Lola and Smack Shack both getting some love from the national spotlight. Now it's Broders' Cucina Italiana's turn to host the bleached-blond Fieri and his crew.

The episode will air at 9 p.m. Central time on the Food Network. The restaurant itself (whose pasta bar has been named City Pages' Best Italian Restaurant several times) will be closed this evening so employees can enjoy the show. For future air dates and a description of this evening's episode, visit the Food Network's website.

Remember, "If it's funky, we'll find it!" is DD&D's motto, so that's the excuse the Food Network can use for hitting up restaurants that don't qualify as a diner, drive-in, or a dive.

That being said, there is nothing funky about Broders'. It's a good local joint for sure, but when I think funky, that is NOT the first place at the top of my list. It seems Guy & company really are running out of places to visit.
